How old are you? Iím 12 years old
Who lives in your house with you?
I live with my three brothers, two sisters, my mother and my father.
What is your favourite food?
I like eating posho and beans.
What is your favourite game to play if you are with your friends?
I like playing football with my friends.
What job or chores do you do at home? When do you do them?
At home I wash plates, cook food and some times wash my clothes. And I do all this after school and on weekends.
What time do you go to bed?
I go to bed at 8:00 pm.
What is the best thing about being you?
The best thing about being me is working hard.
What is your house like?
Our house is a small permanent one.
What is it made of?
It is made of bricks, iron roof and cement.
How many rooms does it have?
It has only two rooms.
Do you have any pets? If so, what are there names? Where do they sleep?
Yes! we have some pets- a dog called Box, cows-Queen, Mandela, Sungura, Mbuni, Ndege and Kadogo the calf. We also have goats and sheep which have no names. Goats and sheep sleep in their own Kraals, cows are just tied on trees while Box sleeps outside to provide security.
How do you get to school? How long does it take you to get there?
I go by foot to school, but some times I also use a bicycle, and it takes me one hour to get to school as the distance is three km.
Do you have lunch at school? If so, what did you have yesterday?
Lunch is not provided at school and I donít carry packed lunch even yesterday I just stayed hungry.
Describe your school uniform.
I like my school uniform which is a good colour i.e. pink shirt and black pair of shorts.
What lessons did you have at school yesterday?
We learnt about sets.
What is your favourite lesson?
Sets in mathematics.
Do you know what you would like to do when you leave school?
Yes! I want to be a Doctor.
Do you know how many people live in your village or town?
There are many people in my village but I donít know their number.
Apart from your pets, what animals do you see every day?
I see squirrels and antelopes.
